Do you have the new Facebook Timeline design yet? If so, you’ve noticed the new “cover photo” space at the top of each profile page. The Facebook timeline cover photo has been around for sometime now, but like everything, there are good and bad ways to use it.
Here are some of the best examples that we have pulled together. We hope they give you some inspiration and if you are a brand, think about empowering your agency to put something together.

TicTac came up with a new version of the flash mob for its viral filmed in France. On a square a person is asked for directions. As soon as the person starts speaking, something strange happens…
Showing up in local search results is a pretty big deal if you’re any sort of local business. When people search online locally, but plan to buy offline locally, being the organisation they find first and find when mobile could mean the difference between growth and death.
While lots of people publish tips about Google Places pages, local web content, address citations and the sort, not enough people are talking about the power of local video when it comes to gaining an advantage in local search.
Many people are talking about video from a content standpoint and I agree, but what about locally optimised video for SEO. John Jantsch has seen this intentional tactic produce some pretty incredible results in a very short time – particularly when it comes to a Google and YouTube combination.
See, here’s the deal – Google wants to give people interesting search results and as often as possible that includes a mix of local Places pages, videos, products, images and blog posts all mashed together on page one for specific search phrases.
Remember that favorite childhood question: if you could dig a hole so deep in your backyard that you would end up on the other side of the world, where would you be? Australia? China?
One Google Maps-based website figures out where you would end up, if such a thing were possible. We’ve done ours (shown here and not so interesting)
Who’s location has the most interesting Antipode location equivalent?
AntipodeMap.com allows you can see which location is exactly halfway around the world from where you are. Double click or move the top map to your region to see which area is diametrically opposite to your current location.
The site defines two antipodal points as being connected by a straight line through the dead center of the Earth. For example, New York City’s antipodal point is in the Indian Ocean, just southwest of Perth, Australia. San Francisco’s antipodal point is southeast of Madagascar, off the African coast.
Which location is halfway around the world from where you are right now? Let us know in the comments.

We recently did a round-up of some of the leading design blogs that you need to follow in order to stay up to date with the latest trends in the design world. In this article we take a look at some blogs and websites that cover WordPress.
Most, if not all, design blogs have WordPress-related articles. However, these blogs deal specifically (and, in most cases, ONLY) with WordPress. Also, not all of the websites below are ‘blogs’ – some of them are feed aggregators, some are design showcases and wpMail.me is an email newsletter. However, they are all related to WordPress.
1. WordPress Arena
WordPress Arena offers articles related to WP themes, plugins, tutorials and offers some freebies. The website also has a WordPress ‘Showcase’ which features various sites that are built on WordPress.
2. WordPress Planet
WordPress Planet is not really a blog – it is an aggregator collecting posts related to WordPress.
